Town of Ivanec

Situated at the foot of Mount Ivančica, the town of Ivanec is known for its natural surroundings, outdoor activities and welcoming atmosphere. With a long tradition of recreation in nature, Ivanec offers a peaceful environment combined with opportunities for sports and leisure.

The nearby Ivanečka Lakes are one of the town’s most attractive natural areas, offering a calm and scenic setting ideal for sport fishing and relaxation. This lake complex, locally known as Ivanečki Bajeri, developed from former mining sites and today provides excellent fishing conditions with a rich variety of fish species. The lakes are regularly used for local, county and national level fishing competitions, making them a recognised and valued venue among anglers in Croatia. The area is popular among anglers and nature lovers seeking a quiet escape, supported by the lakeside Fishing Lodge which offers facilities for visitors.

Croatia and the town of Ivanec will host the 18th Coarse Angling World Championship for Veterans and the 27th Coarse Angling World Championship for Disabled.

The championships will take place on 05 - 06 June 2026., with arrival of the teams scheduled from 31. May 2026. We look forward to welcoming all participating nations to Ivanec for a friendly, fair and memorable competition.

Competition Venue / Sectors

The competition will be held on the Ivanečka Lakes, specifically on the Barutana section, known for its accessibility, calm water and suitable fishing conditions. The venue layout will include sectors A–D (to be confirmed). The site offers easy access for competitors, officials and spectators.

Service Zone (Parking, Sanitary Facilities, First aid):

A designated service area will be organised near the competition venue. It will include parking for teams, sanitation units and logistics for event operations.

Accreditation, Press & Anti-Doping Centre - Fishing Lodge (on-site):

A dedicated facility for team registration, accreditation of officials, media representatives and anti-doping control will be located at the Fishing Lodge, directly at the competition venue. The centre will operate as the main information and support hub for all delegations throughout the championship, providing schedules, updates, official communications and general assistance.

Anti-doping procedures will be carried out in accordance with WADA and FIPSed regulations, ensuring full privacy, confidentiality and a secure environment for all athletes involved.

Opening Ceremony / Award Ceremony & Gala Dinner:

The Opening Ceremony and the official Award Ceremony, followed by a Gala Dinner, will be held at a suitable venue in Ivanec . The location will be adapted for all guests and designed to showcase local hospitality and culture.

Accessibility Note:

The Organising Committee guarantees full accessibility at all official event locations, including ramps, adapted sanitary facilities and dedicated parking areas for persons with disabilities, participants and guests.
